Bal Harbour is known as the fashion capital of South Florida. In this suburb of Miami many trendy shops, primarily Bal Harbour Shops shopping mall, are located. The small size of the area (it covers about 1.6 square kilometers) explains mostly high-rise Bal Harbour development, which was conducted and is currently conducted as well. New developments in Bal Harbour are luxurious and modern buildings of futuristic design, which houses condominiums and offices, shops and showrooms. The most famous Bal Harbour residential buildings are the ultramodern One Bal Harbour and St. Regis, built in 2007 and 2011.
